Neoliberalism, AI, and the Terror of History

I (Dan Waterfield) has a substack post discussing the links between Quinn Slobodian’s Globalists and AI Safety through the lens of Mircea Eliade. I basically argue that genevan neoliberalism and reinforcement learning are reactions to world-crises (ww1, great depression; 9/11, GFC, Eurobonds and 2016) and that both epistemologies were desperate attempts to restrain economic and informational sovereignty by denying the legibility of the world.
